Cart-Jacking in Sapulpa - Clary Fields Challenge Recap

Scott R Chilcutt, Sapulpa, OK (July 9, 2011)  When poor tee time management seemed to infect the Clary Fields Classic, tournament committee member Dave Kirby had to revert to cart-jacking to get the field off the first tee at a reasonable time.

Course scheduling had a number of LARGE groups out prior to the event, which would become problematic when the available carts required finishing players to unload.  Normally heading to the parking lots to dispense of their clubs, Kirby would stop the finishers short of the clubhouse, unload and clean the carts for our next groups.

At the end of the day all the delays were forgotten when Brook Lister, the restaurant manager of the Chili's at 71st street and US75 would bring along a buffet of food for the players to indulge in while waiting on the final results.

Twenty seven year old Joseph Hendrix took home the Tournament Champion Trophy, presented by Labor Finders.

RESULTS:

Championship Flight: Oklahoma City's Jeff Boyer picked up his fourth win of the season over second place finisher Curt Howard from Sapulpa with an even par 71.  The two were tied after 15 holes,  Boyer would then birdie the 16th to grab a one shot lead.   Nineteen year old Colby Mowat would finish third in his first tournament on the tour.
